Today's News Highlight :  Thousands of Eyo masquerades, draped in their signature white Agbada and wielding carved Opambata staffs, take over the streets of Isale Eko to mark the long-awaited return of the Adamu Orisha Play.


The 2025 festival serves as both a spiritual cleansing for the city and a grand tribute to the legacies of Lagosian icons, drawing massive crowds of spectators who removed their shoes in accordance with ancient tradition to honor the passing processions.

In a historic highlight of the 2025 Eyo Festival, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu officially unveiled the world’s tallest Eyo monument at the John Randle Centre for Yoruba Culture and History, marking a monumental tribute to the heritage of Lagos. This towering masterpiece captures the majestic essence of the Adimu Orisha in its full white regalia, standing as a permanent sentinel over the heart of Lagos Island to celebrate the spiritual and cultural significance of the masquerade.
