The Lagos State Government has officially moved to quell growing speculations regarding a political fallout between Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his Ogun State counterpart, Prince Dapo Abiodun. In a formal statement released on Thursday, the administration dismissed reports of a "rift" circulating on various social media platforms and blogs, labeling the claims as baseless and a deliberate attempt to create friction between the two neighbors.

The Governor, emphasized that the relationship between the two leaders remains the "direct opposite" of what is being portrayed by online speculators. According to the government, Sanwo-Olu and Abiodun continue to maintain a very cordial and brotherly bond, rooted in mutual respect and a shared commitment to regional stability.
Officials noted that the two governors are in constant communication, meeting regularly to discuss matters of mutual interest. Because Lagos and Ogun share critical borders and deep socio-cultural ties, the synergy between the two state capitals is viewed as essential for the economic development of the Southwest region. This ongoing collaboration is intended to streamline infrastructure projects and security measures that affect citizens in both states.
The statement further suggested that the rumors are the handiwork of "mischief-makers" seeking to plant seeds of discord where none exists. The government warned those peddling fake news to desist immediately, asserting that such distractions would not derail the administrative goals of either governor. The focus, they maintained, remains on their respective mandates to provide better living standards for their constituents.

Moving forward, they continue working as a united front. By doubling down on their "common vision," both Sanwo-Olu and Abiodun aim to prove that their partnership is unshakable, effectively shutting the door on further speculation regarding their political alliance.
