Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu successfully secured significant global attention and financial pledges for the ambitious $3 billion Green Line Rail Project, which is designed to run 70 kilometers from Marina to the Lekki Free Trade Zone. Presenting the project as a critical component of Lagos's integrated transportation master plan at a major international forum,



The Governor highlighted its potential to serve over 500,000 passengers daily, drastically cut travel times on the congested Lekki-Epe corridor, and drive sustainable economic growth, thereby positioning Lagos as a leading smart city in Africa and attracting substantial investment commitments from international partners keen to participate in the state's infrastructure revolution.
