Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has extended his heartfelt congratulations to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu following the commissioning of the first phase of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, a landmark infrastructure project aimed at transforming Nigeria's transportation landscape.

Describing the development as a “major step forward for Nigeria,” Governor Sanwo-Olu hailed the highway as a critical driver of national progress that will connect coastal communities, create jobs, stimulate trade, and foster sustainable development across multiple states.

“As Governor and a proud Lagosian, I’m especially honored that this historic journey begins here in our state,” Sanwo-Olu stated, adding that Lagos is ready to maximize the opportunities the highway presents.

The Governor expressed deep appreciation to President Tinubu for advancing what he called a visionary project. “It’s a big step, and we’re proud to see it take shape,” he noted.

The Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, expected to span over 700km upon completion, will link Lagos to Cross River State, touching several coastal states including Ogun, Ondo, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, and Akwa Ibom. The project has been widely praised for its potential to transform the nation’s economic infrastructure and enhance regional connectivity.

This commissioning marks a significant milestone in the Tinubu administration’s commitment to infrastructure renewal, regional integration, and economic empowerment.
