Titilayo Oshodi: Advancing Climate Action and Sustainable Development in Lagos

“Life is about service to humanity without expectations and bitterness.” This philosophy reflects the professional journey of Titilayo Oshodi, a Nigerian administrator, entrepreneur and public servant whose career spans business development, marketing, project management and environmental sustainability. Her experience across the private and public sectors has shaped her approach to leadership, organisational development and community advancement.
Titilayo began her career in 2004 as an Independent Sales Director with Mary Kay Cosmetics. During her time with the company, she built a team of more than 40 members and recorded a reported monthly turnover exceeding £100,000. Her achievements earned her the Esteemed Double Star Achievement Award and other recognitions, providing an early foundation for her experience in business development, team leadership and organisational growth.
She subsequently joined Towncriers Limited as Business Development Manager, where she spent four years developing and implementing marketing strategies for multinational brands, including MTN, PZ Cussons and Nigerian Breweries Plc. In January 2014, she became General Manager at African Access Limited, taking on responsibilities in human resources, administration and the management of training and advocacy platforms funded by the United Kingdom's Department for International Development for Federal Government parastatals.

Her experience in business operations and management later led her to establish T-Eye Dot Enterprises, a project management, training and event design firm. Through the company, she provided consultancy services to public and private organisations, supporting team-building initiatives and sales and marketing activities for various Lagos State parastatals. Her entrepreneurial experience further broadened her understanding of institutional management, stakeholder engagement and project coordination.
Titilayo's transition into public service began with her appointment as Campaign Office Administrator to Babajide Sanwo-Olu during his Lagos State gubernatorial campaign. She coordinated departments, managed administrative processes and supported resource management, facilities administration and finance-related operations. Following Sanwo-Olu's emergence as governor, she was appointed Senior Special Assistant on Administrative Duties in April 2019, marking a significant stage in her public-sector career.
She currently serves as Special Adviser on Climate Change and Circular Economy to the Governor of Lagos State. Her portfolio focuses on environmental sustainability, climate advocacy and initiatives aimed at supporting a greener Lagos.
The role brings together her background in administration, strategic management and organisational coordination with the demands of addressing environmental challenges in a rapidly growing urban centre. Climate change and the circular economy are particularly relevant to Lagos, where waste management, urban development and environmental pressures require sustainable approaches and coordinated action.
Beyond her administrative responsibilities, Titilayo has expressed a strong interest in youth empowerment, leadership development and community capacity building. She believes young people with innovative ideas need supportive platforms to develop their abilities and contribute meaningfully to society.
Her interests also include using policy, advocacy and technology to strengthen empowerment initiatives, reflecting her view that sustainable development requires both effective institutions and opportunities for people to participate in creating change.
Her academic qualifications include an Ordinary National Diploma in Business Administration from Lagos State Polytechnic and a bachelor's degree in Economics from Olabisi Onabanjo University. She has also obtained professional certificates from the Metropolitan School of Business and Management in the United Kingdom and Harvard Kennedy School in the United States. Her professional affiliations include the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria, the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics in the United States, the Institute of Strategic Management of Nigeria and the Centre for Management Research and Development in Nigeria.
Married to Ademola Oshodi, with whom she has children, Titilayo balances family life with her professional responsibilities. Her career reflects a progression from sales and marketing to entrepreneurship, public administration and environmental sustainability. Across these fields, she has taken on responsibilities involving team development, organisational management, consultancy and public-sector initiatives. Her guiding belief in service to humanity remains a defining principle of her professional outlook, connecting her private-sector experience with her continuing work in public service, climate action and youth development.
