TG/PS Education District II Visits School, Charges Staff On Professionalism

The Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary of Education District II, Mr. Omotayo Layemo Sanni, has paid a working visit to Odogunyan Junior and Senior Community Grammar Schools as well as Ipakodo Junior and Senior Grammar Schools in the Ikorodu Zone. The visit formed part of his ongoing monitoring and familiarisation tour of schools within the district, aimed at strengthening administrative efficiency and promoting effective teaching and learning.

During the visit, Mr. Sanni engaged with Principals, Vice Principals, and staff members, commending their dedication and hard work in upholding the district’s standards. He urged them to remain focused on delivering quality education and to be intentional in pursuing academic and administrative excellence. According to him, self-development and professionalism are crucial for achieving success in the education sector.
He further advised all staff to adhere strictly to the Public Service Rules, avoid illegalities, and maintain good appearance and conduct at all times. Mr. Sanni cautioned against acts of sexual harassment and corporal punishment, describing them as unethical and counterproductive to the learning environment. He also emphasized the importance of teamwork, encouraging Vice Principals to fully support their Principals to ensure harmony and efficiency in school administration.
While inspecting the ongoing rehabilitation work at Odogunyan Junior Grammar School, the Tutor-General commended the quality of materials and workmanship observed at the site. He, however, charged the contractor to sustain the high standards until the project’s completion, noting that infrastructural development remains key to achieving an enabling environment for both teaching and learning.

Mr. Sanni reaffirmed that discipline, professionalism, and teamwork are the pillars of a successful school system, urging all staff to see themselves as key players in shaping the future of students. The Principals of the visited schools expressed their appreciation for his visit and assured him of their continued commitment to upholding excellence and maintaining high educational standards across their schools.
