Lagos Traffic Radio has continued to prove itself as a vital communication platform for motorists and residents seeking to navigate the metropolis seamlessly. Described as a station that has come to stay despite all odds, it remains the preferred choice for real-time traffic updates and reliable information across Lagos. The station’s relevance and consistency in delivering accurate traffic reports have made it an indispensable companion for commuters across the state.

During a recent visit, the newly deployed Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Strategy, Mr. Olanrewaju Bajulaiye, commended the management and staff of Lagos Traffic Radio for their dedication and hard work. He lauded their efforts in taking the station to greater heights and called for stronger synergy and innovative ideas to enhance traffic information dissemination. Welcoming the Permanent Secretary and his team, the General Manager of Lagos Traffic Radio, Mr. Tayo Akanle, congratulated him on his appointment and redeployment to his home base, the Ministry of Information and Strategy. He described the move as an opportunity to leverage Mr. Bajulaiye’s vast experience for the benefit of the ministry and the station. He also revealed that a booster station has been established in Ikorodu, with another planned for the Ibeju-Lekki axis to further strengthen the station’s broadcast signal. In addition, the station plans to increase its live camera feeds from 300 to over 3,000 in partnership with the Ministry of Innovation, Science, and Technology to improve visibility and real-time updates from the studios.

The General Manager further disclosed that the station has recorded significant growth in its social media presence, with Facebook followers rising from 4,000 in 2019 to 100,000, and X (formerly Twitter) followers increasing from 15,000 to 55,000.
