PMO Hosts 3-Day Management Retreat

The Lagos State P arastatals Monitoring Office (PMO) successfully concluded a three-day Management Staff Retreat themed “Driving Oversight; Delivering Results.” The event, held from October 30 to November 1, 2025, at Amber Residence in GRA, Ikeja, brought together key officials and management staff for intensive discussions on strengthening institutional efficiency, transparency, and innovation across Lagos State’s public sector.

The retreat provided a strategic platform for participants to examine the role of effective oversight in achieving the THEMES+ development agenda. Discussions centered on improving coordination among Parastatals, Agencies, and Government-Owned Companies, with a focus on enhancing performance management, ensuring accountability, and driving citizen-centered service delivery.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Parastatals Monitoring, Hon. Ibrahim Babajide Obanikoro, charged participants to uphold values of transparency and impact-driven leadership. He emphasized the importance of measurable results and accountability in public administration, noting that Lagos State’s reputation for excellence depends on the commitment and integrity of its institutions.

Permanent Secretary, Dr. Olugbemiga Aina, in his address, commended the participants for their dedication and highlighted key sessions focused on digital transformation, innovation, and work-life balance. He noted that these themes are crucial in today’s evolving public service environment, where technology and human capital play vital roles in improving efficiency and citizen engagement.

The PMO reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining high standards of oversight and governance within Lagos State’s parastatals. By fostering collaboration, capacity building, and innovation, the office aims to ensure that all government agencies continue to deliver effective, transparent, and impactful services that benefit every Lagosian.
