LASG Trains Staff On Artificial Intelligence

The Lagos State Ministry of Establishments and Training has commenced a two-day capacity-building programme aimed at enhancing the skills of officers in the state public service. The training, themed “Understanding Artificial Intelligence (AI),” is part of the Ministry’s continuous efforts to strengthen the knowledge base of public servants and equip them for evolving digital trends in governance and administration.

Declaring the programme open, the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Olubusola Abidakun, represented by the Director of Training, Mrs. Modupe Animashaun, reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to developing a competent and forward-thinking workforce. She noted that the training aligns with the state government’s vision of integrating technology into public sector operations for improved efficiency and service delivery.


According to Mrs. Abidakun, the workshop is designed to deepen participants’ understanding of Artificial Intelligence and its relevance to modern public service. She explained that AI has become a critical tool for enhancing productivity, decision-making, and innovation in government processes, making it essential for civil servants to understand its concepts and applications.

The Permanent Secretary further emphasized that the ultimate goal of the training is to help staff work not only smarter and faster but also to ensure their continued relevance in a rapidly changing work environment. She encouraged participants to maximize the opportunity by actively engaging and applying the lessons learned to their various roles within the service.

The two-day programme, which concludes tomorrow, has attracted 100 participants drawn from various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies across the state. Through this initiative, the Lagos State Government continues to demonstrate its commitment to fostering a digitally competent workforce capable of meeting the demands of contemporary governance.
