The Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs. Toke Benson-Awoyinka, has officially inaugurated the MAB Studio in Oregun, Ikeja, describing it as a transformative addition to the state’s creative landscape. Represented by Deputy Director Mrs. Olajumoke James, the Commissioner noted that the new facility will serve as a vital hub for media, arts, and cultural expression. The launch is seen as a reinforcement of Lagos' status as the undisputed creative capital of the African continent.

In her keynote address, the Commissioner praised the founder of MAB Studio, veteran media professional Mrs. Morayo Afolabi-Brown, for her vision and resilience. She noted that the establishment of such a high-caliber studio is a testament to the power of experience and innovation in the media industry. The facility is expected to become a cornerstone for storytelling and content creation, providing a platform where professional standards are upheld and African narratives are projected with authenticity.
The Commissioner emphasized that the creative industry is no longer just a source of entertainment but a critical driver of economic growth and youth empowerment. She highlighted that platforms like MAB Studio provide essential spaces for young talents to learn and collaborate, thereby bridging the unemployment gap. The initiative aligns perfectly with the state's broader strategy to use arts and culture as a vehicle for global engagement and local economic revitalization.
Reaffirming the state’s support, Mrs. Benson-Awoyinka stated that the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu remains committed to fostering a business-friendly environment for cultural entrepreneurs. Through strategic partnerships and supportive policies, the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture aims to position Lagos as a global destination for creative excellence. She invited more private sector players to invest in the state's creative ecosystem to further strengthen the local economy.

The grand opening ceremony concluded with a tour of the new studio’s state-of-the-art facilities. The Commissioner encouraged the management to maintain high ethical standards while deliberately creating mentorship opportunities for emerging creatives. By nurturing talent and promoting professional excellence, MAB Studio is poised to play a significant role in showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Lagos to a global audience, further boosting the state’s "Greater Lagos" vision.
