In his address, the Governor, represented by the Lagos State Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Hon. Pastor Colinus Ojelabi, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to

inclusive growth. He described MESI as "An essential expression of our THEMES Plus agenda, which places strong emphasis on social inclusion, human development and the protection of vulnerable citizens." The Governor emphasised that the State's core vision remains firm: to build a Lagos where every citizen, irrespective of gender, age, or social status, has a clear opportunity to advance.

The Governor proudly noted that a total of 18,963 residents have been empowered to date through various initiatives championed by the Ministry. This figure reflects the government's continuous and determined push to strengthen micro-enterprises and uplift vulnerable groups from poverty and economic hardship.

Hon. Bolaji Cecilia Dada, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, outlined the Ministry’s overarching mandate, which is "To build pathways for vulnerable persons, women, young adults, widows, people living with disabilities, and unemployed graduates - ensuring that everyone, regardless of circumstance, has an opportunity to thrive.” She further stated that in this single edition alone, 18,963 beneficiaries across Lagos State were being equipped with vital income-generating tools, demonstrating the government’s firm resolve to reduce poverty, encourage self-reliance, and sustain micro-enterprises at the grassroots level.
