LASCOPA Strengthens Partnership with Air France KLM to Enhance Consumer Protection in Aviation Sector

In its ongoing efforts to promote consumer rights and fair business practices, the Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency (LASCOPA) has intensified its engagement with key industry stakeholders. The General Manager of LASCOPA, Mr. Afolabi Solebo, recently led the Agency’s management team on a courtesy visit to the headquarters of Air France KLM in Lagos, fostering dialogue on ways to strengthen consumer protection and improve service delivery within the aviation industry

During the meeting, both parties explored opportunities for collaboration aimed at ensuring transparency, fairness, and satisfaction in airline services. Mr. Solebo reiterated LASCOPA’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding the interests of consumers in Lagos State, emphasizing that the Agency remains focused on building partnerships that promote accountability and quality service delivery across all sectors.
He noted that air passengers deserve efficient, reliable, and courteous services, adding that LASCOPA’s role is to ensure such standards are consistently met. According to him, constructive engagement with service providers like Air France KLM creates a platform for addressing complaints promptly and preventing consumer rights violations.
In his response, the Country Manager, Nigeria General Management of Air France KLM, Mr. Jean-Luc Mevellec, commended LASCOPA for its proactive approach to consumer protection. He assured that the airline is committed to upholding global best practices and will continue to collaborate with the Agency to address issues affecting passengers while maintaining high standards of professionalism and customer care.

The courtesy visit concluded on a positive note, with both LASCOPA and Air France KLM reaffirming their shared vision of protecting consumers and enhancing overall service quality in the aviation sector. The initiative marks another step by LASCOPA towards fostering a fair and consumer-friendly business environment in Lagos State.
