The Ministry of Waterfront Infrastructure Development hosted its 2025 Retirees’ Celebration

and Appreciation Day, a heartfelt ceremony dedicated to honoring officers who concluded their long-standing and meritorious service to the Lagos State Government. The event served as a formal public acknowledgement of the retirees' unwavering commitment and the invaluable contributions they delivered to the Ministry over their careers.

Honourable Commissioner Hon. Dayo Bush Alebiosu led the commendation, acknowledging the personal and professional ties forged during their service. He praised the retirees, describing the milestone as a "well-earned" achievement, irrespective of whether their tenure concluded at the statutory age of 60 or after 35 years of service. His remarks humanized the administrative relationship, referencing the inevitable professional "quarrels" that arose, not from enmity, but from the collective need to secure "results" for the State.

The sentiment of profound gratitude was equally expressed by the Permanent Secretary, Esv. Olayinka Wasiu. He urged the retirees to maintain an attitude of thanksgiving for a "graceful and honourable exit" from service, emphasizing that a statutory retirement is a blessing not to be taken for granted, especially when compared to leaving service through misfortune. His address celebrated their loyalty and hard work, encouraging them to confidently embrace the future with a sense of joy and fulfilment.

Highlighting the exceptional dedication of specific individuals, the Honourable Commissioner gave special appreciation to five officers: Mrs. Modupe Ileyemi, Engr. Tajudeen Raji, Mrs. Yemisi Ukpeh, Mrs Remilekun Ajedokun, and Mr. Salau Kuye. This public recognition underscored the significant value and impact their individual services had on the overall operation and mission of the Ministry's work.

the celebratory event, Hon. Alebiosu offered sincere prayers and goodwill to the departing officers as they transition into the next, well-deserved chapter of their lives. The ceremony served as a powerful reminder of the dignity of public service and the LASG’s commitment to formally honouring its longest-serving staff, ensuring they depart with gratitude and respect for their indelible legacy within the Ministry of Waterfront Infrastructure Development.
