Lagos Tourism Commissioner Meets Facility Managers Of J. Randle Centre To Strengthen

The Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Mrs. Toke Benson-Awoyinka, on Monday, held a strategic meeting with key facility managers of the J. Randle Centre for Yoruba Culture and History to assess the facility’s condition and ensure optimal readiness ahead of the upcoming festive season. The meeting underscores the government’s commitment to maintaining top-tier tourism infrastructure and providing a world-class experience for both local and international visitors during the December festivities.

Present at the meeting were the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Adebimpe Oyekan-Ismaila; the Director of Administration and Human Resources, Mr. Taoreed Dosunmu; and the Director of the Facility Management Department, Mr. Abimbola Ogunshote. They were joined by the Chief Executive Officer of KHC Global Services, Mrs. Jumoke Ayeni; the Chief Executive Officer of Super Cleaning and Facility Management, Mrs. Toyin Fashola; and the Co-Partner of Super Cleaning and Facility Management, Mrs. Yewande Soyannwo. The high-level gathering reflected a unified effort between government officials and private sector partners to uphold excellence at one of Lagos’ foremost cultural landmarks.
During the session, discussions revolved around maintaining world-class facility standards, ensuring the Centre remains safe, clean, and fully functional, and improving the overall visitor experience. The stakeholders deliberated on strategies to keep the Centre vibrant and welcoming, especially as it continues to serve as a key hub for promoting Yoruba heritage and cultural tourism. There was also a focus on enhancing operational efficiency and ensuring the facility aligns with international best practices.
Commissioner Benson-Awoyinka emphasised the importance of proactive facility management and consistent service excellence in sustaining the appeal of the J. Randle Centre. She noted that as visitor traffic is expected to rise during the festive period, collaborative efforts among all stakeholders are crucial to maintaining cleanliness, safety, and seamless operations. Her remarks reinforced the Ministry’s vision of promoting Lagos as the cultural heartbeat of Africa and a preferred tourism destination.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment from all participants to intensify maintenance operations and sustain the facility’s high standards throughout the festive season and beyond. This initiative aligns with the Lagos State Government’s broader agenda of showcasing the city’s rich cultural heritage while supporting Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s vision of A Greater Lagos Rising.
