Representing Governor Sanwo-Olu, the Commissioner for Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade and Investment, Mrs. Folashade Bada Ambrose, noted that Lagos scored an impressive 85.6 per cent in the performance index. The 2025 report evaluated 36 sub-metrics, including electricity reliability and commercial justice. This ranking confirms that the state's efforts to slash bureaucracy are yielding tangible results for investors.

The Governor attributed this success to a "deeper layer of data-driven benchmarking" that allowed the state to identify and close reform gaps. Key improvements in digital connectivity and MSME support were highlighted as major factors in the state's victory. The administration’s focus on the Business Facilitation Act (BFA) has created a more predictable and transparent environment for both local and foreign capital.

In a separate ceremony, Governor Sanwo-Olu was also honored with the "Investment and Development Leadership Award" by Business Elites Africa. Receiving the award, the Governor dedicated it to the collective effort of his cabinet and the private sector. He remarked that the theme, “Trailblazers of a Rising Continent,” perfectly captures Lagos’s role as a beacon of innovation and economic resilience in Africa.
