The Lagos State Government is close to completing the mid-level Agro Food Hub in Sangotedo, Eti-Osa, designed to strengthen food distribution and storage across the state.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who inspected the ongoing works on Wednesday, confirmed that the project is over 90 percent complete, with final finishing works in progress. The facility, built on 23,000 square meters of land, will feature storage facilities, trading floors, and parking spaces to ensure residents in the corridor have better access to fresh food.

The Sangotedo hub is part of a wider plan to decentralize food distribution in Lagos. Similar projects are underway in Agege, Lagos Island, Oregun, and Ikorodu, with additional hubs planned for Epe and Badagry. All hubs will be linked to a central logistics facility in Ketu-Ereyun, which will serve as the backbone of the state’s food supply network.

“These investments are central to our food security agenda and align with the Lagos Agricultural Roadmap and the Produce for Lagos initiative,” Sanwo-Olu said, adding that the hubs are expected to begin improving food access by next year.
