Lagos, NBA Nigeria Partner to Boost Youth Development Through Basketball

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has pledged stronger collaboration with NBA Nigeria to grow basketball at the grassroots and drive youth empowerment through sports.

During a meeting with NBA Nigeria leadership at Lagos House, Marina, on Wednesday, the governor commended the association’s commitment to using basketball as a tool for community development, investment attraction, and talent growth.

The NBA delegation outlined plans to leverage its global network to improve sports infrastructure, upgrade coaching standards, and provide international exposure for young athletes. Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized that the initiative aligns with his administration’s vision to position sports as a driver of economic growth and social development.

He said the partnership would create pathways for young talents to excel while cementing Lagos as a hub for sporting excellence.
