The Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board (LSCPWB) has officially commenced the administrative and medical screening process for its intending pilgrims traveling to Israel and Jordan. This crucial phase marks a significant step in the State's preparations for the upcoming pilgrimage. The exercise is a collaborative effort involving the LSCPWB, the National Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC), and other relevant government agencies, all working together to ensure a well-organized and safe journey for the citizens of Lagos.

The Board Secretary of the LSCPWB, Okudero Gbolabo Omoniyi Ph.D., explained that the comprehensive screening process is twofold, encompassing both administrative and medical assessments. The administrative checks are designed to meticulously verify all travel documents and enlighten pilgrims on expectations and guidelines they must adhere to while in the host countries. The medical assessments are focused on determining the physical fitness of each pilgrim and equipping the medical team with the necessary medications and resources to address any potential health needs during the journey.

Dr. Okudero stressed the vital importance of pilgrims being medically and physically fit to undertake the rigors of the journey. He urged them to strictly adhere to the guidelines and laws of the host countries, emphasizing that they are expected to represent Lagos State and Nigeria with the utmost integrity and decorum. This guidance aims to prevent any untoward incidents and ensure the pilgrims' focus remains on the spiritual objectives of the trip.

Adding his voice to the event, the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Bishop (Prof) Stephen Adegbite, reaffirmed the Commission's unwavering commitment to guaranteeing a safe and successful pilgrimage. He highlighted that robust measures are in place to prevent abscondment and ensure the total safety and security of all Nigerian pilgrims in Israel and Jordan. Bishop Adegbite also acknowledged the continuous support provided by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to pilgrimage initiatives across Nigeria.

Furthermore, Reverend Bukola Adeleke, Special Adviser to the Governor on Christian Religious Matters, extended appreciation to the pilgrims for their trust in the Lagos State Government’s pilgrimage services. Both Reverend Adeleke and Bishop Adegbite encouraged the intending pilgrims to utilize their time in the Holy Land for dedicated prayer and spiritual support for Nigeria's leadership, particularly during the nation’s current challenging period. This collective focus underscores the dual spiritual and national significance of the pilgrimage exercise.
