Lagos Health District V Rewards Excellence and Dedication Among Healthcare Workers

Lagos State Health District V recently held a colorful award ceremony to recognize nine professional staff members and two support staff for their exceptional dedication to duty. The event highlighted the state's commitment to motivating its workforce and improving the quality of healthcare delivery across diverse communities.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Health, Dr. (Mrs.) Kemi Ogunyemi, praised the awardees for their resilience, especially those serving in hard-to-reach areas. She reminded the audience that "health is wealth" and urged workers to continue promoting health insurance to ensure that primary healthcare remains accessible to the most vulnerable residents.

​During her keynote address, Dr. Ogunyemi offered a poignant reminder that patients visit clinics out of necessity rather than choice. She challenged healthcare professionals to meet these vulnerable individuals with the highest levels of professionalism and compassion, asserting that hard work in the service of humanity never goes unnoticed.

​The Permanent Secretary of the District, Dr. Oladapo Asiyanbi, echoed these sentiments, thanking the state leadership for its consistent support. He encouraged staff to remain innovative, urging them to share new ideas that could solve existing healthcare challenges rather than letting potential solutions go unspoken.
