Lagos State Health District IV recently hosted a vibrant "Award of Excellence in Healthcare Delivery System" ceremony at the Oluremi Tinubu Hall in Yaba. The event served as a platform to recognize the dedication of healthcare workers from various Primary Health Centres (PHCs). Senior officials gathered to celebrate the individuals driving medical improvements within the district.

The Permanent Secretary of the District, Dr. Abimbola Bowale, expressed his appreciation for Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s support of the health sector. He attributed the district's improved medical services to the seamless teamwork and dedication of the staff. This year, the awards introduced a new tiered classification system to ensure fairer recognition across different types of health facilities.

The selection process was described by the Director of Administration, Mrs. Titilola Seriki, as strictly merit-based and transparent. By using performance data to choose winners, the district aims to motivate all staff members to strive for higher standards. The awards are intended to foster a culture of healthy competition and professional growth among medical personnel.

Specific accolades were handed out for sustainability and quality excellence, with facilities like Ita-Faaji and Sura PHC receiving nods for waste management and patient care. Individual honors were also given to standout professionals, including Dr. Abimbola Oyinlade and Pharm. Kifayat Sanusi. These awards highlight the diverse roles necessary to maintain a robust public health system.

Looking ahead to 2026, Dr. Oludayo Shotunde encouraged the staff to remain energized and committed to patient satisfaction. The ceremony concluded with a call for continued productivity and a focus on the human element of healthcare. The district remains focused on its mission to provide accessible, high-quality medical services to all residents.
