The Lagos State Governor was a prominent figure at the launch of the Aliko Dangote Foundation’s N100 billion annual Education Support Programme, hailing it as a landmark private sector investment. The Governor described the initiative as a remarkable commitment to unlocking the potential of Nigeria’s young population, demonstrating the profound impact achievable when the private sector aligns its resources and commitment with public good. This significant financial outlay is celebrated as a powerful example of what is possible through collaboration, serving to expand crucial educational opportunities for children nationwide.

The Governor leveraged the platform to reiterate his administration's strong commitment to the education sector within Lagos State. He affirmed that Lagos will continue to actively support and bolster initiatives that strengthen the quality of learning, empower the state's teaching workforce, and provide students with the necessary modern tools and resources for competitive success. For the state government, education remains unequivocally the bedrock upon which a stronger, more resilient economy and a more secure and hopeful future for all Lagosians will be built.

He specifically acknowledged the immense potential of the Dangote Foundation's programme to catalyse change. The Governor expressed his optimism and anticipation regarding the tangible difference this massive annual investment will make across classrooms and in communities, not just within Lagos but throughout Nigeria. The scale of the N100 billion programme is recognised as having the capacity to lift educational standards, improve infrastructure, and ultimately change the trajectory of countless young lives by providing essential support.

The Governor's participation was more than mere attendance; it was a clear endorsement of the synergy between public policy and private philanthropy in addressing national development challenges. It underscored the government’s belief that strategic partnerships are essential to achieving educational transformation, especially in a heavily populated and economically vital state like Lagos. The focus is on mobilising all available resources to enhance human capital development.

The event was a powerful statement that education is a collective investment, with the private sector stepping up to play a vital and leading role alongside the government.
