Lagos Commissioner Benson-Awoyinka Attends Yeside Laguda’s SS’26 “WAVES” Fashion Showcase

The Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs. Toke Benson-Awoyinka, attended “WAVES,” the Spring/Summer 2026 fashion presentation by celebrated designer Yeside Laguda. The exclusive showcase took place at Fame Lagos, Ikoyi, attracting fashion enthusiasts, industry insiders, and cultural influencers from across the city.



The event unveiled Laguda’s sophisticated SS’26 collection, a refreshing fusion of contemporary African aesthetics and refined craftsmanship. Each piece reflected the designer’s signature elegance, creativity, and commitment to storytelling through fashion, earning admiration from guests and fashion stakeholders in attendance.


Commissioner Benson-Awoyinka’s presence further reinforced the Lagos State Government’s dedication to supporting the creative and fashion industries. As key pillars of the State’s cultural identity and economic expansion, the government continues to create an enabling environment where designers and artisans can thrive locally and globally.

The Commissioner commended Yeside Laguda for her contribution to elevating Lagos fashion on the world stage, noting that such showcases play an essential role in projecting the State as a vibrant hub for style, talent, and innovation. She also reaffirmed the ministry’s readiness to collaborate with creatives to expand opportunities across the industry’s value chain.
