The Lagos State Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Mr. Akinyemi Ajigbotafe, has reaffirmed the State Government’s unwavering commitment to promoting innovation, creativity, and enterprise development among young people as a key pathway to sustainable wealth creation and economic growth. He made this known during the StartRight Lagos Entrepreneurship Boot Camp, held on Friday, 31st October 2025, at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), Ikeja, where he was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Lolade Aina.

The Boot Camp is an extension of the StartRight Lagos Entrepreneurship Programme, launched by the Ministry to equip aspiring entrepreneurs with essential skills, mentorship, and real-world exposure to build viable and competitive businesses. The initiative reflects the State’s proactive approach to nurturing entrepreneurial capacity, driving innovation, and supporting youth-led enterprises across various sectors to strengthen Lagos’ economic base.
In his remarks, Mr. Ajigbotafe commended participants for their enthusiasm and determination, describing them as vital contributors to the State’s vision of a #GreaterLagos. He emphasized that the programme aligns with Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES+ Agenda, which prioritizes human capital development, enterprise support, and job creation as tools for sustainable prosperity. “Our goal is to raise a new generation of business-minded Lagosians who will not only create wealth for themselves but also generate opportunities for others,” he stated.

The Boot Camp also featured a motivational session with Mrs. Amara Agbim, Founder and CEO of The Nanny Academy Lagos, Nigeria’s first formal training and certification institution for nannies, housekeepers, and caregivers. She shared her inspiring entrepreneurial journey and insights into building sustainable business models. The StartRight Lagos Entrepreneurship Boot Camp forms part of the State Government’s ongoing efforts to promote youth empowerment, reduce unemployment, and foster a thriving ecosystem for innovation and business development.
