Lagos Agrithon Grand Finale Showcases Youth-Led Agritech Innovations

The Lagos State Government, through the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Systems, recently hosted the Grand Finale Pitch Screening of the Lagos Agrithon, a flagship initiative aimed at promoting youth-led agribusinesses. The event brought together 36 outstanding young agripreneurs presenting innovative agritech solutions to enhance food security and stimulate economic growth across the State.

Speaking at the event, Honourable Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Systems, Ms. Abisola Olusanya, emphasized the government’s dedication to nurturing the next generation of agricultural leaders. She highlighted that Lagos State is committed to providing funding, mentorship, and strategic partnerships to help young agripreneurs scale their businesses and create sustainable impact.
The Lagos Agrithon provides a platform for youth to demonstrate creativity and innovation in agritech, from modern farming techniques to digital solutions that optimize productivity. Participants were assessed on the viability, scalability, and transformative potential of their projects.
Officials noted that the initiative aligns with the State’s broader agenda to strengthen food systems, encourage youth participation in agriculture, and foster entrepreneurship. By connecting young agripreneurs with industry experts and investors, the Lagos Agrithon accelerates the growth of innovative agricultural ventures.
