Lagos Agripreneurship Programme Graduates First Cohort in Agege

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture and Food Systems, Mr. Emmanuel Audu, attended the graduation ceremony of the first cohort of the Lagos Agripreneurship Programme (LAP) at the Farm Service and Entrepreneurial Centre, Agege. The event marked a significant milestone in the State’s drive to equip young people with practical skills for sustainable agriculture.

In his address, Mr. Audu commended the graduands for their commitment to completing the intensive training programme designed to enhance their capacity in modern farming techniques. He noted that Lagos State is intentional about empowering residents with tools to participate actively in its agricultural revolution.

The Permanent Secretary urged the newly trained agripreneurs to apply the knowledge gained to create innovative solutions within the agricultural value chain. He emphasized that their success has the potential to impact food production, agricultural processing, distribution, and overall sector efficiency across the State.

Mr. Audu highlighted that programmes like LAP are central to the government’s agenda on food security, job creation, and youth empowerment. By equipping young entrepreneurs with practical, hands-on training, Lagos is positioning itself to reduce reliance on food imports and strengthen local productivity.

The ceremony ended emonstration of some of the skills acquired during the training, leaving attendees optimistic about the future contributions of the graduates. The first cohort represents a growing wave of agripreneurs ready to support Lagos State’s agricultural transformation agenda.
