Ikorodu-Oga Development Association Honours MWAPA’S Permanent Secretary

The Ikorodu-Oga Development Association (IKODASS), led by His Royal Majesty, Oba (Engr.) Kabir Adewale Shotobi, the Ayangburen of Ikorodu and Paramount Ruler of the Ikorodu Division, has honoured Mrs. Rianat Onigbanjo, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (MWAPA), Lagos State. She received the prestigious Ikorodu-Oga Public Service Award during a special ceremony held at the historic Ikorodu Town Hall as part of the 34th Ikorodu-Oga Day Celebration.

Presenting the award, HRM Oba Shotobi praised Mrs. Onigbanjo for her unwavering dedication to public service, exceptional leadership, and significant contributions to community development across Ikorodu and Lagos State. He described her as a “shining example of integrity, dedication, and excellence in public administration,” noting that her work continues to inspire countless individuals within and beyond the division.


Speaking on behalf of IKODASS executives, Chairman Alhaji Kolawole Fatai Olayiwola highlighted the purpose of the award to motivate civil and public servants to deliver outstanding service, to encourage others to emulate the commitment of Mrs. Onigbanjo, and to celebrate individuals whose contributions foster growth, harmony, and well-being in Ikorodu-Oga. He emphasized that the award is a symbol of appreciation for those who uphold the values and aspirations of the community.

In her response, Mrs. Onigbanjo expressed heartfelt gratitude to IKODASS and the Ayangburen of Ikorodu for the honour. She dedicated the award to hardworking public officers across Lagos State and reaffirmed her commitment to initiatives that support women, families, and communities. She also noted that the recognition would further inspire her to continue championing development-focused policies.

The 2025 Ikorodu-Oga Day celebration continues to highlight cultural pride, community unity, and excellence in service values that remain central to the identity and progress of Ikorodu-Oga. The ceremony was attended by top government officials, Permanent Secretaries, Executive Secretaries, Directors, and traditional rulers who gathered in solidarity to support community advancement and celebrate distinguished contributions.
