The Honourable Commissioner for Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade and Investment (MCCTI), Mrs. Folashade Ambrose-Bada, has called upon the Ministry’s workforce to embrace a higher level of dedication and commitment in the new year. This charge was delivered during a special prayer session held at the Ministry’s Conference Room in Alausa, Ikeja, to commemorate the first working day of 2026. The event served as both a spiritual commencement and a strategic alignment for the tasks ahead.

Represented by the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Babatunde Onigbanjo, the Commissioner expressed deep appreciation for the staff’s hard work throughout the previous year. She noted that the successes recorded by the Ministry were not accidental but the result of the immense contributions and personal sacrifices made by the personnel. This acknowledgement served to bolster morale as the team prepares to tackle the ambitious goals set for the current calendar year.
A central theme of the Commissioner’s message was the power of unity and collaborative effort. Mrs. Ambrose-Bada highlighted that the Ministry’s rapid progress was a direct result of "working as a team," emphasizing that no single individual could achieve the Ministry’s broad mandate alone. She urged the staff to maintain this spirit of synergy to ensure that the internal culture remains productive and focused on collective victories.
Looking forward, the Commissioner outlined a vision to solidify the State’s reputation as Africa’s premier investment destination. By focusing on improving the business environment and enhancing the ease of doing business, the Ministry aims to attract more global and local investors. These efforts are expected to trigger significant growth across the industrial, commercial, and trade sectors, directly benefiting the residents of the State.

the start of 2026 is viewed by the Ministry leadership as a pivotal window of opportunity to build upon existing foundations. The call for increased commitment is a strategic move to ensure that the cooperative and investment sectors remain robust. As the staff resumes their duties, the mandate remains clear: to drive economic prosperity and institutional excellence for the benefit of all stakeholders.
