Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu celebrated Guinness Nigeria Plc on its 75th Anniversary, marking three-quarters of a century of industry leadership, innovation, and deep-rooted partnership with Lagos State and the Nigerian people. Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Barr. 'Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin, at the anniversary dinner on Monday, December 8, 2025, the Governor applauded the company's remarkable evolution from a modest trading outfit in 1950 to a global manufacturing giant with enduring social footprints. He highlighted that the establishment of the company's first brewery in Lagos in 1962, the first outside Ireland and Great Britain, solidified its commitment to the nation, integrating it into the culture, economy, and everyday lives of millions of Nigerians.

The Governor representive emphasised that Guinness Nigeria's story transcends its commercial success, framing its legacy as one built on community development, people, and a shared national identity. He specifically highlighted several impactful Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives that demonstrate this commitment. Among the most notable is the Water of Life Programme, which has successfully provided over 500,000 Nigerians with sustained access to clean drinking water, significantly improving sanitation and community health outcomes.

Having commended the company's dedication to empowerment through its women-focused Plan-W initiative, designed to equip beneficiaries with essential entrepreneurial and financial skills for improved livelihoods. He also acknowledged the sustained educational investments, including the Guinness Undergraduate Scholarship Scheme, which continues to open critical opportunities for bright Nigerian students. The Governor described these projects and interventions as enduring legacies, underscoring that the company's true success is measured not only in profit but in measurable, lasting social impact across the nation.
