Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu had the honour of receiving the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Nigeria, H.E. Mohammed Fouad, on a courtesy visit to Lagos House, Ikeja. The visit provided an important opportunity to reaffirm the longstanding friendship between Lagos State and the Egyptian government.

Our engagement was warm, insightful, and deeply productive, reflecting the shared commitment of both sides to deepen cooperation. The Ambassador and I explored various areas where Lagos and Egypt can build mutually beneficial partnerships that support our development goals.
We discussed opportunities in sectors such as tourism, transportation, agriculture, trade, and technology areas where both Lagos and Egypt have demonstrated strength. By aligning our shared interests, we aim to unlock new avenues for growth and innovation that will benefit our residents and businesses.
The meeting also highlighted the potential for knowledge exchange, particularly in urban development and infrastructure management. Egypt’s advancements in these sectors present valuable lessons for Lagos, while Lagos’ dynamic economy provides fertile ground for collaboration.

Overall, the visit reinforced our collective resolve to foster stronger bilateral ties and create impactful partnerships. Lagos remains open for cooperation with global partners, and we look forward to transforming today’s discussions into meaningful outcomes for both Lagos and Egypt.
