Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, personalised his political commitment this week by visiting Ward E3, Premier Ward, in the Adeniji Adele area of Lagos Island. The visit was specifically aimed at the formal re-registration of his membership with the All Progressives Congress (APC) within the Lagos Island East Local Council Development Area (LCDA). For the Governor, the exercise served as a homecoming to the roots of his journey, reinforcing the sentiment that effective governance is built on grassroots connections.

During the exercise, the Governor engaged in candid conversations with neighbors and party faithful, stressing that the development of Lagos is a collective responsibility. He emphasized that being physically present at the LCDA level underscores how personal politics must remain for those in leadership. By standing in line and revalidating his status, Sanwo-Olu aimed to lead by example, showing that every member’s contribution is vital to the party’s long-term vision.
Addressing the gathered crowd, the Governor issued a clarion call for both existing and prospective members to take action. He urged those already within the party to take a moment to revalidate their membership to ensure a robust and updated database for the APC. Furthermore, he extended an invitation to those "watching from the sidelines," encouraging them to officially join the party and contribute to the ongoing transformation of the state.
The atmosphere at Adeniji Adele was one of community engagement, as residents took the opportunity to discuss local concerns directly with the state’s helmsman. Sanwo-Olu’s message was clear: participation is the bedrock of progress. He reminded the people that the "Greater Lagos" vision is only achievable when citizens move from being passive observers to active participants in the political process.

The Governor concluded his visit by reiterating that Lagos moves forward only when its people take full ownership of their collective future. By strengthening the party structure at the ward level, he believes the government can stay more attuned to the needs of the people. The visit marks a significant start to the political year, emphasizing mobilization and grassroots inclusivity as key drivers for the administration's 2026 goals.
