Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu joined his colleagues at the Southern Governors’ Forum and the Southern Nigeria Traditional Rulers’ Council in Ogun State for a crucial meeting focused on improving security, governance, and overall regional development. The gathering brought together key leaders committed to ensuring stability and progress across the Southern region.

During the meeting, the Forum passed a Vote of Confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, reaffirming support for a Southern presidency. The leaders also reiterated their dedication to building a safer and more united South, while extending condolences over recent national security losses. They commended President Tinubu for his efforts in stabilizing the economy and driving major infrastructure projects nationwide.

The discussions covered a range of actionable solutions aimed at strengthening the region’s security architecture. One of the major resolutions was the establishment of a zonal security fund to support better-coordinated initiatives across states. The leaders also emphasized the importance of enhanced intelligence sharing and improved collaboration among security agencies.

Another key highlight of the meeting was the resolution to strengthen community security outfits and involve traditional rulers more formally in security operations. This approach recognizes the vital role local institutions play in maintaining peace and addressing threats at the grassroots level.

Governor Sanwo-Olu and other regional leaders reassured citizens that the South remains united and committed to sustaining peace, cooperation, and development. Their collective pledge reflects a renewed determination to confront emerging challenges and promote long-term progress across the region.
