Governor Sanwo-Olu Commissions Landmark Projects in Lagos Island East to Mark Chairman Folawiyo’s 100 Days in Office

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has commissioned a series of landmark projects delivered by the Chairman of Lagos Island East Local Council Development Area, Hon. Muibi Folawiyo, in celebration of his first 100 days in office. The newly inaugurated projects reflect the administration’s commitment to grassroots development and improved service delivery across the state..

Among the projects commissioned were a new housing estate, a state-of-the-art Command Centre for the Lagos Neighborhood Safety Corps (LNSC), and the newly rebuilt and upgraded Lagos Island East Council Secretariat. These projects symbolize the council’s dedication to enhancing governance, security, and community welfare at the local level.
The upgraded Council Secretariat stands out as a model of modern infrastructure within the Lagos local government system. The new complex boasts 60 well-furnished offices, a modern legislative building, a 300- to 500-seater multipurpose hall, a mosque, a church, and a fully equipped staff clinic, among other facilities. These amenities are designed to improve administrative efficiency and provide a conducive environment for both staff and residents.
Governor Sanwo-Olu commended Chairman Folawiyo and his team for their visionary leadership and effective use of resources in executing people-centered projects. He noted that the initiatives would not only strengthen local governance but also foster unity, productivity, and inclusiveness among the residents of Lagos Island East.

Expressing his delight, the Governor stated that the development holds special significance for him as it represents progress within his own community. “Together, we are building a neighbourhood that reflects our history, our pride, and our shared vision for progress,” he said, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to continuous growth and transformation across all parts of Lagos State.
