Governor Sanwo-Olu Appoints Dr. Sulaimon Ogunmuyiwa as OEQA Director-General

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has announced the appointment of Dr. Sulaimon Olagoke Ogunmuyiwa as the new Director-General of the Office of Education Quality Assurance (OEQA), effective immediately. The appointment letter was formally presented on Thursday, December 11, 2025, by the Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro, at the Secretariat, Alausa.

Dr. Ogunmuyiwa is a highly experienced education administrator, bringing over 25 years of progressive expertise in vital areas such as school evaluation, quality assurance systems, planning, and educational leadership within the state government. His academic credentials include a PhD in Educational Administration and Planning from the University of Abuja and multiple Master's degrees, solidifying his foundation in educational management.
Prior to this appointment, Dr. Ogunmuyiwa held several strategic roles within OEQA, including Head of Planning, Head of Education Quality Assurance Services, and most recently, Director of Private Education and Special Programmes. In these roles, he provided key oversight for school accreditation, quality monitoring, and systemic improvement initiatives, establishing a track record of excellence.
A multiple award-winning officer, Dr. Ogunmuyiwa has been consistently recognised as the Best Staff of OEQA between 2012 and 2022. He is also a respected member of multiple professional bodies and has made extensive contributions to teacher development and community-based educational initiatives, serving as a sought-after mentor for civil servants and young professionals.

The Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro, congratulated the new Director-General, expressing his confidence that Dr. Ogunmuyiwa's vast experience would significantly enhance the quality of education in Lagos State. Mr. Agoro urged him to continue his tireless work to ensure the state's education system remains a model for others across the nation to emulate.
