The Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, is set to commission 233 new housing units at the Abraham Adesanya Housing Estate, Ajah, on Friday, November 21st, 2025. The commissioning marks another major step in the state’s effort to expand access to quality accommodation, especially for residents within the rapidly growing Lekki corridor. With Lagos’ population increasing steadily, the delivery of these units will provide much-needed relief for families seeking affordable and befitting homes.

This update was revealed by the Lagos State Commissioner for Housing, Hon. Moruf Akinderu-Fatai, during a media briefing in his office. He explained that the new development comprises 34 blocks housing a total of 233 units, designed to meet modern housing standards. According to the Commissioner, this project reflects the administration’s ongoing commitment to increasing housing supply and reducing the accommodation deficit across the state.
The real estate project is a joint venture between the Lagos State Government and Urban Shelter Ltd., a private development firm. Built on 3.7 hectares of land, the new units are situated within the fully functional Abraham Adesanya Housing Estate along the Lekki-Epe Expressway. The strategic location ensures that residents will benefit from the estate’s existing infrastructure, ease of access, and the vibrant economic activities of the Lekki axis.
Hon. Akinderu-Fatai reiterated the Ministry’s dedication to delivering affordable and quality homes, in alignment with Governor Sanwo-Olu’s promise to complete all ongoing housing projects across Lagos. He noted that the commissioning of the 233-unit development underscores the government’s resolve to improve living conditions and expand homeownership opportunities for Lagosians. He added that more housing projects are at various stages of completion and will be delivered soon.

The Abraham Adesanya Housing Estate holds historical significance, having been first commissioned on January 15, 2001, by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who was then the Governor of Lagos State. Building on this legacy, Governor Sanwo-Olu has continued to expand the estate’s capacity. In October, he commissioned 420 home units at the Akinsanya Sunny Ajose Housing Estate in Ajara, reinforcing his administration’s commitment to A Greater Lagos Rising.
