The Governor officially commissioned the new Akilo (Isheri-Oke) Mini Waterworks in Ogba, Ikeja. This significant project is the culmination of a focused collaboration between the Lagos State Water Corporation and WaterAid Nigeria, carried out under the Urban Water and Sanitation Access Project. The successful completion and operational status of the facility are viewed as a fulfilling step in service delivery to the populace.

The newly commissioned facility is now fully operational and boasts a daily delivery capacity of 1 million gallons of clean water. This enhanced capacity provides hundreds of thousands of residents in the Akilo area with reliable access to safe drinking water. The project represents a substantial step toward improving the daily life quality for families and businesses within the community, reinforcing the commitment to public welfare.
Following the commissioning, the Governor also visited the site of the Adiyan Waterworks Phase II in Oke-Aro. This is one of the most ambitious and large-scale infrastructure projects currently underway in Lagos State, strategically designed to secure the long-term water needs of the rapidly expanding population.
The scale of the Adiyan II project is substantial; once completed, it is projected to add an impressive 70 million gallons of water per day to the state's network. This expanded network is designed to serve up to 5 million residents across various communities. The increased capacity will significantly bolster the operational output of the existing Adiyan I and Iju Waterworks, thereby strengthening the overall resilience and stability of the state's water supply.
