Gov. Sanwo-Olu Attends The Lens For Good Storytellers Conference

In a vibrant display of support for the creative economy, the Lagos State Governor earlier today attended the Lens for Good 2026 Storytellers’ Conference at the newly restored Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and the Creative Arts, formerly the National Theatre. Addressing a crowd of emerging photographers and filmmakers, the Governor emphasized that visual narratives are not merely for entertainment, but serve as vital tools that inspire, educate, and connect global communities.

The Governor highlighted the profound psychological impact of storytelling, noting that the images and films produced by Nigerians shape both international perceptions of the country and our own sense of identity. He remarked that the dialogues held during the conference underscored a critical truth: the stories chosen for the screen and lens reflect the current values of society and the aspirations of who Nigerians wish to become.

Central to the visit was the revitalization of the National Theatre itself.
