COWLSO Rewards Participants With New House, GAC Truck, Return Tickets To Ghana, London, Other

The 25th National Women’s Conference of the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO) concluded in grand style at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, with exciting prizes and heartfelt celebrations. The glamorous Gala Night saw Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu announce a ₦20 million cash prize for Mrs. Florence Obayomi-Davies, a staff member of LASUTH. Other lucky winners included Mrs. Olusola Oduguwa, a retired Permanent Secretary who won a new home, and Ms. Thelma Abidemi Madume, a staff of Coker Aguda LCDA, who drove home a brand-new GAC pickup truck. Additional winners received return flight tickets to Ghana and London, adding excitement to the memorable evening.

In his closing remarks, Governor Sanwo-Olu commended COWLSO for its enduring legacy of empowering women and building stronger families. He described the 25th anniversary as both a celebration of purpose and a renewal of a movement committed to uplifting women and transforming society. The Governor paid glowing tribute to Senator Oluremi Tinubu, OON, CON, for revitalizing the organization during her tenure as First Lady, and lauded the leadership of the current Chairperson, Dr. Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, for expanding COWLSO’s impact across Lagos and beyond.
Governor Sanwo-Olu urged participants to take the lessons and inspiration from the conference back to their communities, turning ideas into tangible impact through mentorship, compassion, and courage. He expressed optimism that the next 25 years would continue to reflect COWLSO’s values of leadership and service, ensuring its legacy shines even brighter for future generations. “The next 25 years will depend on how boldly we continue to mentor, to serve, and to lead,” he said.
The First Lady of Lagos State and COWLSO Chairperson, Dr. (Mrs.) Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, expressed immense joy over the successful hosting of the Silver Jubilee edition themed “25 Years of Visionary Legacy: Inspiring the Next Generation.” She described the conference as a celebration of women’s strength, brilliance, and resilience, emphasizing that it provided valuable insights to empower participants to make positive changes in their homes and communities. She also commended the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, for her goodwill message and the Planning Committee led by Dr. (Mrs.) Olayemi Oke-Osanyitolu for their dedication.

The event climaxed with a radiant Gala Night filled with music, dance, and celebration, symbolizing 25 years of impactful service, mentorship, and empowerment. The wife of the Deputy Governor, Mrs. Oluremi Hamzat, delivered the vote of thanks, appreciating all contributors and urging participants to uphold the spirit of the Silver Jubilee. She encouraged women to continue building stronger and healthier communities in alignment with COWLSO’s mission of inspiring the next generation.
