Prior to assuming the role of SSG, Barr. Salu-Hundeyin served as a Federal Commissioner representing Lagos State at the National Population Commission (NPC), a position she held since November 2020. This experience in a major federal government body speaks to her deep background in national administration and public service. She is described as an erudite, experienced Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, boasting over three decades of experience at the Bar.

Her professional profile highlights her as an astute manager of business, human, and economic resources, demonstrating a strong commitment to excellence. As the SSG, she is a vital figure in promoting and actualizing Governor Sanwo-Olu's administration's strategic framework, known as the T.H.E.M.E.S Plus Developmental Agenda. She has specifically emphasized the "S" pillar of the agenda, which prioritizes Security and Governance, stressing the need for continuous innovation among security agencies to keep Lagos safe.

Beyond her administrative duties, Barr. Salu-Hundeyin has been a vocal advocate for the protection and well-being of the youth, particularly in the fight against sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV). She collaborates actively with organizations like the Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) to create "Child safe" environments where children are respected, protected, empowered, and participate in their own safety. She emphasizes that children and youths are not just the future but are major stakeholders and useful resources in nation-building.

Her advocacy for child rights is founded on the principles of the Child's Rights Law of Lagos State, which guarantees every child the right to life, survival, dignity, and freedom from discrimination and abuse. Barr. Salu-Hundeyin continually calls upon parents, guardians, and teachers to foster closer ties with their children to encourage disclosure of abuse issues, promoting a collective and proactive fight against SGBV across all government arms and sectors.
