The cultural gathering took place at the Italian Consulate on Walter Carrington Crescent, Victoria Island, Lagos, on Saturday, 13th December 2025.

The event was a vibrant celebration of the Renaissance artistic movement and served as a powerful platform to explore and highlight the historical evolution and rich, shared cultural connections between Afro-African and Italian heritage. The Lagos State Government's presence at the event signals its commitment to fostering international cultural exchange and supporting the arts as a key component of the state's global profile.
Mr. Aregbe's attendance underscored the Ministry’s focus on promoting diverse cultural events that enrich the artistic landscape of Lagos and provide opportunities for local artists to connect with international themes and audiences. Such partnerships are essential for positioning Lagos as a major cultural hub in Africa.
The theme of the Renaissance and shared heritage provided an intellectual and artistic basis for dialogue, bringing together dignitaries and cultural enthusiasts to appreciate the intertwining of global artistic histories. It reinforced the notion that culture is a vital tool for diplomacy and mutual understanding between nations.
