Lagos State has taken a significant step into the future of technology by launching a specialized training program for 80 young residents. The initiative, titled “Capital Development of Lagos Youth on Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, and Machine Learning,” was flagged off by Commissioner Mr. Mobolaji Ogunlende. The training is being held simultaneously in Ikeja and Lekki to ensure broad accessibility.

The program aims to bridge the digital skills gap by providing practical knowledge in cutting-edge fields. Participants will learn the fundamentals of machine learning and how to utilize data analytics for problem-solving. To ensure they are fully equipped for the journey, each of the 80 participants was presented with a brand-new laptop.
This initiative is a collaborative effort between the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) and Innovious. Commissioner Ogunlende commended the partners for their forward-thinking approach to youth empowerment. He noted that such programs are essential for creating economic independence and fostering innovation among the youth.
The training aligns with the state's broader strategy to position Lagos as a technological hub in Africa. By investing in AI and data science, the government is preparing its workforce for the global job market. The move is expected to create a ripple effect of technological growth and entrepreneurship across the state.

Mr. Ogunlende concluded the launch by calling for sustained support for such high-impact educational programs. He emphasized that the future of Lagos depends on the ability of its young people to navigate the digital economy. Under the hashtag #RisingStar, the state continues to champion the development of its most valuable resource: its youth.
