Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu performed the ground-breaking ceremony for the new Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) office complex in Ikeja. The state-of-the-art facility is set to serve as the permanent headquarters for the Fund, marking a significant milestone in the state’s security architecture. The project is being fully funded and donated by renowned philanthropist, Sir (Dr.) Kesington Adebukunola Adebutu, MON.

During the event, Governor Sanwo-Olu expressed his profound gratitude to Sir Adebutu for his unwavering commitment to the safety of Lagos residents. The Governor highlighted that such a generous donation exemplifies the spirit of patriotism needed to drive development. He noted that the new headquarters would provide the necessary infrastructure to streamline the Fund’s operations and enhance its support for various security agencies.

The Governor reiterated that security remains a top priority for his administration, as it is the foundation upon which business growth and family safety are built. He outlined the state's ongoing investments in technology, professional training, and modern infrastructure. By strengthening these sectors, the government aims to create an environment where citizens can thrive without the fear of crime or instability.

Governor Sanwo-Olu also took the opportunity to thank all previous and current contributors to the Security Trust Fund. He emphasized that the generosity of private sector donors makes a "real difference" in the operational readiness of the police and other security outfits. He described the LSSTF as a successful model of how public-private partnerships can effectively address societal challenges.

As the first shovel hit the ground, the Governor described the upcoming building as a symbol of unity and shared responsibility. He vowed that the complex would be utilized to its fullest potential to ensure Lagos remains safe and resilient. The ceremony concluded with a call for more corporate entities and individuals to join hands with the government in its quest to build a stronger and more secure mega-city.
